Leeann Fuerniss

September 7, 1962 — June 15, 2017

LeeAnn Fuerniss went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 15, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving family and caring friends. LeeAnn was born September 7, 1962 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. After graduating from Mt. Vernon College in Washington D.C., LeeAnn moved to Macon in 1986 and worked for various publishing companies before starting and committing to her family. She is survived by her faithful and loving husband of 30 years, Steven H. Fuerniss, and her two sons, S. Elliott Fuerniss ( Atlanta) and John W. Fuerniss(Athens), mother, Patricia Prienitz Fisher (Atlanta), brothers, Mark H. Fisher, V. Scott Fisher, sister, Karen Cox (all of Memphis), step-mother, Terry M. Fisher(Bowling Green, KY) and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. V.L. Fisher of Bowling Green, KY. LeeAnn's death was truly a coronation and culmination of her life with her Savior, Jesus Christ. LeeAnn placed her life in the Lord's hands. Her illness was marked by this trust and a strong belief in the sovereignty of God, not in self pity or fear. Her greatest joys were the love that her beloved husband and sons shared and their strong faith. LeeAnn's faith enabled her to enjoy family, friends and beloved dogs, Rosie and Taffy, even in the midst of her severe illness. Everything she touched became more beautiful for those around her. She was truly a loving wife and devoted mother. LeeAnn loved all of her large family and many friends. She was a faithful prayer warrior and always supported others in difficult times and rejoiced with them during good times. LeeAnn's pursuit of all things beautiful was evident in her passion for gardening and cooking. Beauty surrounded her in every aspect of her life and she generously shared that beauty with others. LeeAnn loved her First Presbyterian Church family where she was a member for over 25 years. A visitation will be held at Hart's Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Friday, June 16, 2017.
