Lee Edward Oxley Iii

Lee Edward Oxley, III, 87, of Macon, GA, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Andy Oxford officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 7015 Rivoli Rd, Macon, GA 31210.

Son of the late Lee Edward Oxley, Jr. and Lawune Everidge Oxley, Mr. Oxley was a retired banker at Liberty Savings Bank.  He was a member of the MG Automobile Sports Club and Macon Exchange Club.

Mr. Oxley was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was a deacon.  He coached little league at Vine-Ingle.  He was also an avid bicyclist and collected antiques.  He could be found daily having lunch either at the Waffle House on Zebulon Road or Johnny’s Pizza.

Mr. Oxley is survived by his children, Kim Owens (Ronnie) of Macon, Lee “Dusty” Oxley (Mandi) of Martin, Georgia, Stacy Sales (Chris) of Clayton, Georgia, and Stephanie Foskey (Ricky) of Macon; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Patches.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Oxley was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Norman Nelson Oxley; sons, Bryant Nelson Oxley and Brett Wesley Oxley; brother, Johnny Mack Oxley; and sister, Frances Cox.
