Lee Ann Clarke Nash died Saturday, October 22, 2016 in the great outdoors doing what she loved. Lee Ann had a boundless spirit full of energy and optimism that would uplift and inspire people to do things they never thought they could do. She was passionate for mountain biking, road biking, kayaking, running, and swimming. Having completed numerous marathons and triathlons, even while fighting breast cancer, she was most proud of completing an Iron Man competition. She also enjoyed nature and all its offerings from her beloved river house and spending as much time as possible there with her close-knit family and friends. More recently, Lee Ann always expressed tremendous excitement and love for her young grandchildren, Eli and Art. For more than 25 years, Lee Ann was a pharmacist at WellStar Spalding Regional Hospital where she cultivated long lasting relationships with her co-workers whom she loved dearly. Her passion and love for others stretched as far as Kenya, where she participated in a medical mission trip through Jackson United Methodist Church. Lee Ann was a graduate of Stratford Academy, the University of Georgia, and the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, and a member of the Forsyth Presbyterian Church. She was born in Forsyth, Georgia to the late Justice Harold Gravely Clarke and Nora Gordon Clarke. Lee Ann is survived by her son, Clarke Nash (Anne) of Savannah; grandchildren, Elizabeth Dixon Nash and William Arthur Nash; close friend Jean Dodson of Jackson; brother, Hal Clarke (Barbara) of Forsyth; sisters, Julie Clarke of Marietta and Beth Maner (Randy) of Atlanta; nieces and nephews, Brooke White (Kendall), Alan Poole (Courtney), Robert Poole, Emmeline Maner, and Blake Maner; and great-nieces, Carson and Mabry White. The family will greet friends at the Parish House of Forsyth Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, October 26 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 27 at 11:00AM at Jackson United Methodist Church with the Reverend Chris Shurtz and Reverend Dr. P. Alice Rogers officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forsyth Presbyterian Church, Jackson United Methodist Church, or Daucet Trails Nature Center, a place where she spent much of her time and that she cherished greatly.
