Lawrence Wendall Mayer

Lawrence Wendall Mayer, 83, of 1140 St. Andrews Drive, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Burial will be private at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Mr. Mayer was the husband of the late Corine Kay Mayer. He was the founder of Lawrence Mayer Florist. Born in Detroit, he and his son, Jonathan, relocated the family business to Macon in 1983. Mr. Mayer served on the Historic Review Board of Bibb County Planning and Zoning. Mr. Mayer is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Julie Mayer of Macon; grandchildren, Megan Mayer and Erin Mayer, both of Macon; brother, James Mayer of Gaylord, Michigan.
