Larry Day

Larry Day, 81, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola, with Andy Watson officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.

Larry was born on April 11, 1944, in Bogata, Texas, to Jesse Harmon Day and Aileen Roach Day. Larry started his career in the trucking business with Betz Dearborn, Inc. He bought Truck Parts and Service before starting Truck and Trailer of Macon in 1991.

Larry married Patsy August 10, 1991. He loved and embraced his life as a husband, father, and grandfather. He was a dedicated entrepreneur and his number one goal was to always provide for his family. Becoming a grandfather made his life complete. He enjoyed spending time with them making lasting memories. Some of their favorite pastimes included vacations to West Palm Beach and Hilton Head. Larry was known as a NASCAR and Dallas Cowboy fan as well. Larry loved his family and he will be greatly missed.

Larry is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Patsy Day; his children, Raines Newberry, Paige Fulk (Chad), and David Newberry (Chalese), all of Macon, Wendy Day and Laura Dumas, both of Cartersville, Georgia; his grandchildren, Alex Newberry, Matt Newberry, Macaden Fulk (Madison), Halen Fulk, Cannon Newberry, Carson Newberry, Lexi Newberry, Lawson Newberry, Charlie Newberry, Alex Dumas, Cole Dumas, and Reese Dumas. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gerald Day.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Mr. Larry Day.
