Larry Sandford Brooks, Sr.

Larry Sandford Brooks, Sr. passed away at Atrium Health Navicent Tuesday, June 4, 2024, surrounded by family.  Funeral services will be private.

Larry was born November 3, 1943, in Gordon, Georgia to the late Clarence Eugene Brooks and Anna Magnolia Reed Brooks. He was a 1961 graduate of Wilkinson County High School and attended Middle Georgia College. He spent his career at Englehard/BASF in McIntyre, Georgia.

Larry enjoyed 63 years of marriage to Judith “Judy” Elaine Dennard Brooks. He also leaves behind three children, his daughter, Carolynn Anne Brooks Carroll (Mark) of Rome, Georgia; and sons, Larry “Sandy” Sandford Brooks, Jr. (Dannette) of Bonaire, Georgia, and Clarence “Lane” Lanier Brooks (Anna) of Columbus, Georgia; grandchildren: Brianne Carroll White (Brett), Markie Carroll Stroup (Joel), Erin Carroll Clark (Josh), Chandler Sandford Brooks (Meagan), Adrien Page (Scott), Justin Sowell (Kelly), Lanier Love Brooks, Sarah Reed Brooks and his 15 great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was a wonderful father and Papaw.
