Kenneth Douglas Martin, Sr.

Kenneth Douglas Martin, Sr.,76, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Martin was born in Richmond, VA to the late James and Eva Martin. He was an electrician and retired from IBEW. Mr. Martin, a Purple Heart recipient, was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed hunting, camping and boating. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Daniels and Karen Elbond. Survivors include his wife, Jean D. Martin; children, Kenneth D. Martin, Jr (Kathy), Sherrie Carmichael, Kenneth Carmichael, Tony Carmichael, Richard Johnson, and Kathy Martin; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald and Jobie Martin; and extended family and friends.
