Kenneth Leroy Kuipers

Mr. Kenneth Leroy Kuipers, 83, of Macon, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, August 17, 2024.  Funeral services will be at Hart’s Mortuary Cherry Street Chapel, Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 2:00PM, with the Reverend Phil Anderson officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment at Riverside Cemetery will follow the service.

Kenneth was born in Amsterdam, Missouri to the late Edna Frances and Carl Jacob Kuipers. He attended Carlisle Military Academy before attending Young Harris College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business and Accounting.  He attended the University of Alabama getting a degree with a focus on tax accounting.  His Master of Business Administration was achieved at Georgia College and State University.  Kenneth served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Klondike, being stationed in Adak, Alaska and Guam.  He worked at Robins Air Force Base for over thirty-five years. His favorite hobby was gardening, and he generously gave plants to many people. Kenneth had been a faithful member of Vineville Baptist Church for over 40 years and most recently had attended Northway Church.  He was a member of the Cochran Masonic Lodge and had been a member of Scottish Rite.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother, Carl J. Kuipers, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Melissa Kuipers; daughter, Allison Helen Kuipers, of Macon; son, John Hilton Kuipers of Macon; sister, Anna Montgomery of Columbus, Georgia; brother, Dr. Gilbert Kuipers of Valley City, North Dakota; and his faithful brother-in-law and caregiver, Dr. Michael Sharpe of Macon.

Hart’s Mortuary and Cremation Center, 765 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201 has charge of arrangements.
