Kendell Lynn Chance

February 23, 1955 — December 7, 2025

Gray

Kendell Lynn Chance, 70, of Gray, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025. Born in Dublin, Georgia, on February 23, 1955, Kendell was the beloved son of Ann Mae Batey (Sisson) and Whaley Chance, both of whom preceded him in death.

Kendell built a long, dedicated career as a claims adjuster for Atlanta Casualty / Infinity Insurance Company, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, reliability, and integrity. In his youth, Kendell was a fierce and gifted tennis player, earning several state championships and tournament titles. His competitive spirit and determination on the court reflected the same qualities he carried throughout his life. A lifelong outdoorsman, Kendell hunted throughout his earlier years but eventually dedicated his time instead to the peacefulness of fishing, which he enjoyed with close friends and family. In later years, he found constant companionship and joy in his beloved Boston terrier, Ace, who remained faithfully by his side.

Above all else, Kendell loved his family deeply. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Brenda Chance; his children, Erik and Jaime Chance, Steven Taylor, and Jessica (Jessie) and Dustin Keith; and his cherished grandchildren, Evan, Meridian, Ava, Isabella, and Beau. He is also survived by his nephews, Jonathan (Brittany) Chance and Joseph (Sarah) Chance. He leaves behind a family who will carry forward the memories and moments that shaped their time with him.

Kendell’s legacy is one of quiet strength, devotion, and unwavering love for his family—especially his grandchildren—and for his loyal companion, Ace, who will continue to be lovingly cared for by his uncle.

The family will hold a private service at his residence in Gray. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, honoring Kendell’s lifelong love of the outdoors.
