Kelly Laite Dye, 51, passed away at her home on Monday, January 7, 2013. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola at 11:00AM on Thursday, 10, 2013 at Hart's at the Cupola. Reverend Ben Gosden will officiate. A reception will follow the service. Kelly was born in Macon on October 10, 1961 to Marilyn Meeks Laite of Alma and the late William E. "Bill" Laite, Jr. of Valdosta. She lived in Macon most of her life and was a member of Riverside Methodist Church as a child. Kelly attended Rosa Taylor Elementary School and graduated in 1979 from Central High School. She received her Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia in 1983. Over the years, Kelly worked for the Medical Center of Central Georgia, Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, and most recently she was employed as a Respiratory Therapist at Coliseum Northside Hospital. She was a Certified Pulmonary Functions Specialist, a member of the American Association for Respiratory Care and member of Mustard Seed Sunday School Class at Mulberry United Methodist Church. Kelly was extremely creative and loved arts, crafts, sculpture, beadwork, and needlework at which she excelled. She was a talented decorator and a lover of animals of all kinds. She was a precious daughter, sister, devoted mother, aunts, and loyal friend. Kelly had a loving and generous spirit, always thinking of others before herself, and this was reflected by her abundance of friends from all walks of life. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Kelly was predeceased by her brother, William E. "Little Bill" Laite, III and her father, William E. "Bill" Laite, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Dye and Caroline Dye; son, Charlie Dye, III, all of Macon; mother, Marilyn Meeks Laite of Fernandina Beach, Florida; sisters, Jennie Laite Thigpin (Michael) of Macon; Katherine Frances Laite of Gracewood, Georgia; and nieces, Julianne Jenkins Gleaton and Carolyn Jenkins Dow.
