Kathryn “Kathy” Simmons

Kathryn “Kathy” Tucker Simmons passed into Eternal Life with God on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at the age of 70. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Vineville United Methodist Church at 11 AM on Friday, November 30th, with the Reverend Grace Guyton officiating. Kathy is survived by her devoted husband of forty-six years, Charles Smith Simmons; daughters, Kathryn Simmons Strickland (Matt) of Macon, and Virginia Sweet Simmons Dupuy (Ben) of New Orleans; and her adoring grandchildren, Lillie Sweet Holiman Strickland, Matthew Thomas Strickland, Jr. (Mack), Florence Virginia Dupuy, and Kathryn Simmons Dupuy. A native of Cartersville, Georgia, she is also survived by her brother Claude Eugene Tucker, Jr. (Judy), brother-in-law William Pinckney Simmons, Jr. (Bertha), and sister-in-law Betty Sweet Simmons Ladson, and many nieces and nephews. Kathy graduated from Stratford Academy in 1966 and The University of Georgia in 1970, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She was a member of the Junior League of Macon, The Sewing Club, a devoted member of Vineville Methodist, and a gracious and loving friend to so many. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vineville Methodist Church, 2045 Vineville Ave., Macon, GA 31204.
