Kathryn Melvin Osborne

Mrs. Kathy Melvin Osborne, 62, of Jones County, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024.  Funeral services will be at Greenwood Baptist Church, Friday, October 18, 2024 at 2:00PM with Pastor Bill Linder officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Gray will follow the service.

Kathy was born in Macon, Georgia to Will Ed and Peggy Melvin.  She attended Jones County High School where she met her future husband, Don.  Typical high school sweethearts, the two were head-over-heels in love and were married in 1979.  Kathy loved her family dearly, and her most important work –what she was most proud of- was taking care of her husband and her three boys.  Her home was always immaculate, and she enjoyed gardening and vacationing with her family on the beach.

Kathy was a faithful Christian and a long-time member of Greenwood Baptist Church. Anyone who met her said she was the most loving person they ever met. She was a “walking angel” and a beautiful lady.

Kathy is preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Melvin.  She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Don Osborne; son, Troy Osborne of Macon; son, Matt Osborne of Macon; son, Wade Osborne of Macon; grandson, Liam Osborne; father, Will Ed Melvin of Macon; siblings, Ed Melvin (Berni) of Macon, Sue Magouirk of Macon, and Jay Melvin (Charlene) of Gray; brother-in-law, Doug Osborne (Lucy) of Gray; sister-in-law, Marilyn Napier of North Carolina; and multiple beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
