Kathryn Mccullough Kennedy

MACON - Kathy Kennedy was born in Montgomery, Alabama and moved to Macon when she was a little girl. She was the daughter of Harold and Jean Culpepper Norris, and the granddaughter of Ernest and Beatrice Culpepper and John and Vaunita Bremer Kennedy. She was predeceased by her parents, grandparents, brother, John Lester Kennedy, aunt, Lesley Susan Kennedy Bennett, uncle, Gilbert Bennett and by her first cousin, Philip Michael Walden, Jr. Kathy is survived by her aunt, Katherine K. Walden-Lindley, son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Marisol Ryals, grandsons, Damian and Gavin Ryals, by sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Brian Odom and by sister and brother-in-law, Harriett and Henry Futch. She is also survived by nephews, Brice Odom, Brett Odom, Ashley (Tina) Kennedy, Chris Nations, Hank (Nolie) Futch, Hal (Tyler) Futch and George (Lynda) Futch, and great nephews, Connor and Trevor Kennedy, and cousin, Charles (Amy) Lindley plus other extended family. After graduating from Tift College in Forsyth, Kathy earned her M.Ed. from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville and taught in the Bibb County school system until her retirement. Kathy loved beachcombing, trips to the north Georgia mountains, her golden retrievers and her rescue pets; she volunteered for Save-A-Pet and was an avid horsewoman. Kathy's family is grateful to Dr. Douglas Brewer and to Dr. Kim Johnston for her care in Macon and to Dr. Asha Nayak, to Dr. John Vender and to the staff, for her care at Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta. During the last year of her life, Kathy was fortunate to have her dearest friend and companion, Frank Kimbell, devote much of his time to her care. In lieu of flowers, Kathy's family requests that gifts be given in her memory to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, whose staff showed heartfelt compassion to her and to her family.
