Katherine Wessing

Katherine “Kathy” Ann Wessing, 66, of Macon, Georgia, passed away March 22, 2025.  A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in the Chapel of Hart’s on Cherry Street.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family will greet friends following the service.

Daughter of the late Charles Edward Nieman and Elma Elizabeth Hurst Nieman, and sister of late Harry Nieman and Jim Nieman, Kathy was born on October 30, 1958, in Lincoln Park, Michigan. A true family person at heart, Kathy found her home wherever her loved ones were. Her adventurous spirit led her to live in 13 different states, each move marking a new chapter in her life filled with fresh experiences and cherished memories. Kathy lived by the motto, "when was the last time you did something for the first time," a reflection of her enthusiasm for embracing the unknown and trying new things.  She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, David Wessing of Macon; children, Jeremiah Wessing of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Brajkovich (Diane) of Winchester, Virginia, and Peter Wessing (Dionicio Romo Reyes) of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren: Jacob Wessing, Isabella Wessing, and Brienza Barone; brothers, Orlin Nieman (Dorothy) of Winter Haven, Florida and Charles Nieman (Tammy Baughman) of Joanna, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Sheila Thomas (Gregory) of Caroga Lake, New York; and brother-in-law, Michael Wessing (Cindy) of Rome, New York.
