Katherine B. “Kathy” Stocks

Katherine B. “Kathy” Stocks, 78, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Riverside Cemetery, with the Reverend Danny Lyles officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Daughter of the late Chandler R. Bennett and Irene Beasley Bennett Messmer, Kathy was born on November 24, 1944, in Macon, Georgia. She was greatly admired for her dedication and service to the Bibb County Board of Education, where she passionately served for 29 years before her well-deserved retirement.

Kathy was known for her resilient spirit and nurturing heart, leaving a legacy of kindness and generosity. Her strong and vibrant faith was evident in her life as a long-standing member of Cross Keys Baptist Church.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Amanda Stocks (Marty) of Macon, Georgia, and Marie Smith (Bobby) of McIntyre, Georgia; granddaughter, Amber Thompson; brother-in-law, Bobby Stocks (Cindy) of Gray, Georgia; sister-in-law, Trenia Evans of Gray, Georgia, many nieces, nephews and cousins; and best friends, Linda and Buddy O’Neal of Macon, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Stocks.
