Katherine "Betty" Corley Norman

Katherine “Betty" Corley Norman, 93, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Greenwood Baptist Church, with the Reverend Kim Washburn officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow the service at 2:30 PM at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge, Georgia.

Daughter of the late Horace Leonard Corley and Mackie Allen Corley, Betty was born on October 8, 1930, in Atlanta, Georgia.  She served loyally as an employee at Crawford and Company until her retirement in 2001. Deeply spiritual, she was a cherished member of Greenwood Baptist Church and a former member of Shurlington Baptist Church. She engaged actively in the Goldtimers group and the Women's Missionary Union, illustrating her commitment to faith and service.

Betty found joy in home decorating, flower arranging, and china painting. Her creativity shone brightly while crocheting and undertaking needlework. She loved classical music, and she relished the challenge of solving crossword puzzles. Betty’s hospitality knew no bounds, and her home was always a welcome haven for friends. Her legacy of warmth and creativity will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

The family expresses profound gratitude to the staff at Watercrest Senior Living, especially Memory Care, for their extraordinary care and support.

Betty will be lovingly remembered by her son, Alan Norman (Wanda) of Clemmons, North Carolina; cousin, Joan Brewer of Lawrenceville, Georgia; best friend, Peggy Frady of Macon, Georgia; special caregivers, Justine Ferguson and Patty Reott; niece, Mary Elizabeth Corley of South Carolina; and nephew, Mark Corley of South Carolina.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Elliott Norman; and brother, Wendell Corley.
