Karie Lee Brown

Mr. Karie Lee Brown, 60, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023.  Funeral services will be at Dames Ferry Baptist Church in Jones County, Georgia, December 4, 2023, at 11:00AM, with the Reverend Randy Wilkes officiating.  Burial at Dames Ferry Baptist Church Cemetery will follow the service.  The family will greet friends at Hart’s Mortuary Jones County Chapel, Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM.

Mr. Brown’s family has deep roots in Middle Georgia.  He started work for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company in Macon in 1990.  He moved his family to North Carolina when the company merged with R.J. Reynolds and the Macon plant was relocated there.  Mr. Brown enjoyed the outdoors and liked to fish anywhere you could find a lake or a river.  He had a passion for cars, and even owned an old 1930 Ford. He was baptized at Place of Praise church and attended services there every week.  Always one to take care of things himself, his family will remember his self-reliance and unique and independent nature.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sara and Charles Brown, Sr., and Hatte and Barney Watts; and his brother; Charles Ray Brown, III.  He is survived by his parents, Mary and Charles Brown, Jr., of Jones County, Georgia; son, Dallas Brown (Sarah), of Lexington, North Carolina; daughter, Amanda Everson (Steven), of Lexington; and grandchildren, Madilynn and Raelynn Everson, both of Lexington.

Hart’s Jones County Chapel, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032 has charge of arrangements.
