June Merriman Liles

April 29, 1928 — July 8, 2013

June Merriman Liles, 85, of 268 Albermarle Place, died Monday, July 8, 2013. Services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11:00AM at Christ Church with the Reverend Harriette Simmons officiating. Following the funeral service, a reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery following the reception. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Christ Church, 582 Walnut Street, Macon, Georgia 31201. Miss Liles, daughter of the late Marion Harper Liles, Sr. and the late Mary Ann Frierson Liles, was a member of Christ Church. She attended Brenau College where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Miss Liles was retired from Southern Bell after thirty-three years of service. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames, Macon Town Committee, sustaining member of Junior League of Macon, Macon History Club, Morning Music Club, and Knit Wits Club. In later years, Miss Liles operated an antique business in The Yellow House and Ingleside Antique Center. Miss Liles is survived by her brother, Marion Harper "Brother" Liles, Jr. (Catharine) of Macon; nieces, Mary Parker Egbert (Mike) of Washington, North Carolina, Rebecca Grist (Joel) and Catharine Watkins (Nat), both of Macon; great-nieces and nephews, Hali Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, Mary Blain Grist, Jack Grist, and Mary Cate Sample; cousins, Mrs. A.
