Julius W. " Dude" Haskins, 95, of Gray, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026. Dude was born October 18, 1930, in Chester Georgia to the late James Arthur Haskins and the late Maggie Lee Williams Haskins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Hart's Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray Georgia, with Reverend Dwayne Bedingfield officiating. Burial will follow at Middle Georgia Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Dude owned and operated many businesses over the years including, Haskins Garage, J & G Truck Stop, and Cedar Creek Bait and Tackle. He also built the Jiffy Jim's Bait and Tackle. Dude was known for his strong will and hard work ethic. When not working, he loved to cut grass, fish, tend to his animals, attend NASCAR events and loved dirt track racing. He attended Mt Zion Baptist Church and was baptized at 86 years old. “The grass will never look better in heaven, and he would argue his water in the county is still better than whatever they got up there.”
Dude is survived by his sons, Andy Haskins, of Gordon and Lark Haskins (Toni) of Gray; his step-daughters, Debbie Langham (Michael) of Gordon and Stephanie Malone (Jeff) of Gordon; grandchildren, Tammy Bailey (Ed), Caitlin Haskins, Chaz Haskins (Madison), McKenzie Turk (Justin), Jamie Langham (Laura), Jessie Langham, Tara Malone, and Sara Grace Malone, Mallory Anderson; great grandchildren, Kirsten, Nick, Kayden, Karsen, Waylon, Emmy, Cam, Kynleigh, Kade; brother Stuart Haskins of Lake Sinclair, sister Ann Oxley, of Jones County, and Brother Larry Haskins (Minnie) of Jones County, and many friends.
In addition to his parents Dude is preceded in death by his first wife Gloria Mae Addleton Haskins, his second wife Betty Hammock Haskins, and his brother Aaron Haskins.
