Joyce Tripp Todd

Joyce Tripp Todd, 73, of Macon, passed away June 24, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Greenwood Baptist Church with the Reverends Timothy Peavy and Len Woodard officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Hart's, Jones County Chapel. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cochran. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the memorial fund in honor of Joyce Tripp Todd, c/o Morris Bank, P.O. Box 2350, Gray, GA 31032 to help continue Joyce’s hopes and dreams for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren or to the Alzheimer's Association Central Georgia Regional Office, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.

Mrs. Todd was a Deputy Sheriff in the civil and warrants division for the Bibb County Sheriff's Department for 23 years and was a substitute teacher for Jones County school system. Before working at the Bibb County Sheriff's Department, she worked at Robins Air Force Base for 12 years. She was born and raised in Cochran, Georgia. She was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church.

Mrs. Todd served the Board of Directors for the Georgia Woman's Association from 1980-1986, where she served as president from 1983-1984. She also served the Women's International Bowling Congress of the southeastern states as a director/delegate from 1983-1985. She also coached youth bowling leagues at Macon Bowl. She was inducted in the Georgia Women's Hall of Fame in 1991. Mrs. Todd was the daughter of the late Charlie Tripp and Hattie Mae Livingston Tripp. She was predeceased by siblings Helen Tripp, Ruth Tripp, Charlene Tripp and Jacqueline Tripp Allen.

Mrs. Todd is survived by her husband of 49 years, Johnny Todd, of Jones County; daughters, Michelle Todd Brewer (Tommy) and Julie Todd Marsh (Myron), both of Jones County; grandchildren, Ryan Thomas Brewer, Heather Nicole Todd (Whit Ussery) and Jonathan "J.T." Todd, all of Jones County; great-grandchild, Robert Brayden Ussery, also of Jones County; nephew, Roger Allen of North Carolina; niece, Eugenia Miller (Harold) of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Janiece Parsons of California; and brother-in-law, David Todd (Marovic) of California.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and they referred to her often as “Mamo”. She will be missed dearly by us all.
