Joyce Paul, 76, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015, in a local hospital. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at 2:00PM, in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. The Reverends Steve Johnson and Tommy Perkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bradley Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bradley Baptist Church, P.O Box 61, Gray, GA 31032 or Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, 719 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015, from 5PM until 7PM, at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. Joyce was born in Thomson, Ga. She graduated from Thomson High School in 1957. She graduated from the Macon Hospital School of Nursing (now the Medical Center of Central Georgia) in 1960. Joyce served on the faculty of the School of Nursing as Clinical Instructor, Recruiter and Director of Admissions. Later she worked with the Georgia Student Finance Commission as Financial Aid Consultant. She retired in 2004 after 27 years of service. Joyce was an avid gardener and loved working in her yard. Throughout her lengthy illness, she always maintained an upbeat attitude and greeted you with a smile. Joyce was a longtime member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her parents Mary Lou and Emory Pollette and her sister, Doris P. Elliott. Joyce is survived by her brother-in-law Mickey V. Elliott, niece Amanda Elliott, and nephews Mike Elliott and Mark Elliott, all of Texas. Friends can register online at www.hartsmort.com.
