Josephine Ann DeAngelis Butler, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Bella Cavalla Farm. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Forest Meadows Cemetery, Gainesville, Florida. Family will greet friends between 5:00-7:00PM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the residence of Kristina and Dan Groselle, 9900 Lower Thomaston Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care Options, 486 New Street, Macon, Georgia 31201, or Friends of the Library, PO Box 18175, Macon, Georgia 31209. Mrs. Butler was an avid golfer. Her favorite golf course was the Augusta National, though she never had the honor to play the course. Her second favorite golf course was Pebble Beach. She was also an avid reader, who loved cooking, crossword puzzles, art and music. Born in Florence, Italy, she moved to the United States when she was 7 years old. Mrs. Butler grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, but lived most of her adult life in Gainesville, Florida. Mrs. Butler was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Morgan Butler, Jr. and two sons, Frederick Morgan Butler, III and Francis George Butler. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Lee Widener (Steve) of Macon; six grandchildren, Kristina Groselle (Dan) of Macon, Paul W. McArthur, Jr. (Keisha) of Gainesville, Florida, Kimberly Ann Mann of Gainesville, Florida, Allison Carter (Darrell) of Picayune, Mississippi, Frederick Morgan Butler, IV (Tabatha) of Picayune, and Rene Butler of Corpus Christi, Texas; and sixteen great grandchildren.
