Joseph Andrew Thomas, Jr. died Friday, September 14, 2012. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to All About Animals, P. O. Box 4331, Macon, Georgia 31208. Mr. Thomas was retired from the State of Georgia. He was 72, and his birthday was October 6, 1940. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking care of his dog children, Marlo and Noah, and gardening. He loved salt water aquariums and was considered a salt water aquarist. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Ann Thomas; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Danny Thompson; grandson, Robert C. Hawthorn; granddaughter, Ashley Ann Kennedy and her husband, Kody; great-granddaughter, Paisley Ann Kennedy; mother, Ida Inez Thomas; brother, Floyd Thomas and his wife, Pat; two nieces, two nephews, and eight great-nieces and nephews.
