Macon- Joseph Lamar Thomas passed away Friday, January 8, 2010. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 7070 Houston Road. Trey Jones will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 10, 2010, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Flowers will be accepted. Born in Macon, Mr. Thomas was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lester Thomas, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan Thomas of Macon, and daughter, Sherry T. Lee of Macon, and was preceded in death by son Joseph Chandler Thomas. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jessica Ann Lee and Joseph Jackson Lee of Macon, Aunt Betty Johnson of Macon, nieces and nephews Michael R Webb of Macon, Mark Webb of Forsyth, Greg Thomas of Macon, Kathy Bryant of Danville, Trey Thomas of Macon, and Jennifer Kenney of Eatonton. Mr. Thomas, an avid hunter and lover of nature and the great outdoors, was the center and anchor of everyone around him. He was a dedicated husband and father and he so loved his family, as they so loved him. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was retired from Pabst Brewing Company in Perry, Georgia.
