Joseph "Jody" Steven Wilson, Sr.

Joseph Steven "Jody" Wilson, Sr., 89, of Gray, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 15, 2021.  Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Ridge Cemetery with the Reverend John Haney officiating.  Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Swift Creek Methodist Church, 4271 Jeffersonville Rd, Macon, GA 31217.

Son of the late Henry and Adel Riley Wilson, Mr. Wilson was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War for 2 years.  He worked at Southern Natural Gas for 38 years.  He was a member of Masons.  Mr. Wilson enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He did all the maintenance on his own cars and built houses for his family members.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Chalkley Wilson.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his children, Stephanie Hatcher of Hampton, Georgia, Renee (Doug) Jiles of Gray, and Joey (Flo) Wilson of Gray; 6 grandchildren, Cassie Craig of Hiawassee, Georgia, Katy (Daniel) Longo of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Ashley Jiles of Austin, Texas, J.D. Jiles of Gray, Lauren Wilson of Gray, and Lindsay Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia; and 7 great grandchildren, Ethan Hunter, Macie Hunter, Leanne Hunter, Lucy Longo, Maya Longo, Georgia Jiles, and Christopher Craig.
