Joseph Clifton Methvin

Methvin, Joseph Clifton (Cliff) Cliff Methvin, a lifelong resident of Macon, died October 21, 2011 at a local hospital. Mr. Methvin was born in Macon on November 15, 1939. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base and worked for several years as a part-time courier. He loved fishing and boating especially at the ocean. He was a wonderful chef and loved good food and cooking for family and friends. He was a collector and had a love of antiques. He also loved to shop for bargains and was good at it. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was somewhat of a jokester. He dabbled in woodworking for a while, making doll beds and cribs and picture frames. He is survived by his son, Michael L. Methvin, Powder Springs, Georgia, step-children Dawn B. Kamphuis, Garner, NC and Kevin M. Griffith, Gray, Georgia. He is also survived by two dear friends who loved him, Sandra G. Bennett, Gray, Georgia and Earle R. Flynn, Delta, AL. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph C. Methvin, Sr. and Evenlyn Hawthorne Methvin. At his request, no formal service will be held and his wishes were for his ashes to be scattered at Mexico Beach, Florida. Friends may sign the online register at www.hartsmort.com. Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, had charge of arrangements.
