Johnnie Lou Sanders Few, 75, passed the bonds of earth into the loving arms of her Father on Friday, March 16, 2012. She was the wife of Dr. Lindsey D. Few, Jr., a marriage which lasted fifty years. She was born on April 13, 1936 to John Wesley Sanders and Eula Chasteen Sanders of Danielsville, Georgia. She was educated in the schools of Madison County. She attended GSCW and the University of Georgia where she received a B.S.Ed. in 1957 and a Masters in Education in 1974 in the field of gifted education. She taught elementary grades and gifted pupils before retiring in 1994. She worked in the schools of DeKalb County, Commerce, Madison County, Alaska on-base schools and Glascock County. She retired from the public schools in 1994 after having taught in Coweta County for a number of years. Mrs. Few was an avid gardener and served as a Sunday School teacher for the senior adult ladies at First Baptist Church, Newnan. She and her husband moved to Macon in 2007 to be near her children. She and her husband were members of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Macon. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Wesley Few (Michelle) of Dudley and Cindy Phillips (Dean) of Macon; as well as four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Dr. David Hunter officiating on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 3:00PM. Visitation will be between 2:00-3:00PM. Burial will be Monday, March 19, 2012 at 11:00AM at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Newnan. The family can be reached at 5928 Plantation Villa Drive South, Macon, Georgia 31210.
