John Carlton White

John Carlton White, of Jones County, passed peacefully on December 4, 2018. Funeral services will be held on December 7, 2018, 11AM at Immanuel Baptist Church. The Reverend Burt Hickman, Clay Bowden and Reverend Len Woodard will be officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 Glenwood City Cemetery in Glenwood GA. The family will greet friend on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, from 5:00- 7:00 PM at Harts, Jones County Chapel.

Mr. White was born at home in Wheeler County and attended Wheeler County Schools. He was drafted into the Army in 1963 and served in Vietnam with the First Calvary Division. Mr. White moved to Jones County in 1968 and started work at Southern Aggregates where he was awarded Quality Control person of the year in 1993. He was a member of the Jones County Lion’s Club and served as the President of the club from July 2002 to June 2003 and membership chairman from July 2003 to June 2004. Mr. White was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, Chestley White and Vesta Connell White; wife, Hazel White; daughter, Carol White; brothers, Leroy White and Jack White.

Mr. White is survived by his sons, Travis (Nickie) White, Roy (Kelley) Rogers; daughter, Joy (Mickey) Smith; brothers, Herbert (Ginger) White, Bobby White; sisters, Ewona (Ray) McDaniel and Maudie Warnock.
