John Wesley Ward, Jr.

Dublin, GA- John Wesley Ward, Jr., 89, formerly of Macon, Georgia, of 207 A Meadow Lane, Dublin, Georgia, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00PM at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Macon, Georgia, with the Reverends Joel Dent and Steve Patton officiating. The family will greet friends at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia on Friday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM and may be contacted at the residence of Vicki Lee Ward Clark, 265 Rum Creek Trail, Dublin, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31204. Mr. Ward was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Macon and served as past president of Golden Exchange Club. A veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Mr. Ward was a volunteer at the Methodist Home for Children and Youth for approximately twenty years. Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Eva Lee Maddox Ward of Dublin, formerly of Macon; daughter, Vicki Lee Ward Clark (Wayne Edward) of Dublin; grandchildren, Meagan Lee Clark and Elizabeth Grace Clark, both of Dublin.
