John L. Teipel, Sr.

Mr. John L. Teipel, Sr., 86, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Funeral services will be private. Family will greet friends Saturday, February 13, 2016 between 2:00-4:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Mr. Teipel was born in Birmingham, Alabama and spent his early years in Atlanta and Jacksonville, Florida. He was a graduate of the University of Florida School of Law and was associated with State Farm Insurance Company in auto claims management for more than 30 years. He had moved to Macon with State Farm in 1964 and was active in Boy Scouts, Little League baseball and softball, serving as President and board member of Vine Ingle Little League for many years. Mr. Teipel served in the military as an active member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of several area golf clubs. Mr. Teipel is survived by his wife, Anita; children, John, Jr (Trooper), David, Jan; and much loved grandchildren, Ansley, Evan, Colton, Austen, and Brennen. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
