Macon-John Lamar Ogden, 68, entered eternal life on August 20, 2010. Born and raised in Macon, Georgia, he spent most of his life in his home town. He graduated from Bibb County schools, served in the United States Army, and had a career in industrial maintenance at Robins Air Force Base. He loved and was beloved by his family. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Louise Brown Ogden, his sons, Paul Lamar Ogden (Tiffany) and Gregory Neil Ogden, and grandchildren: Christian Lamar Ogden, Ryleigh McKenna Ogden, Makayla Elizabeth Ogden, and Abigail Nicole Ogden, and one grand daughter due to be born on Christmas day. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Madie B. and Monroe G. Ogden, and his brother Robert H. Ogden. His surviving siblings are: Kathy O. Sellars ( Bill), Mary O. Lasley, Monroe G. Ogden (Pat), William S. Ogden (Lou), Sue O. Ballard (Mike) and Dorothy O. Brown (Phil) as well as many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Johnny. John's wonderful sense of humor will be remembered by his family. He had an extensive knowledge of music and enjoyed playing a number of musical instruments with family and friends. He was also an avid collector of memorabilia and enjoyed working with electronics. Visitation will be on Monday, August 23, from 10 -11am at First Evangelical Church, 3601 Fulton Mill Road. A memorial service will follow at 11am with the Reverend Tim Long and the Reverend Richard Jelley officiating. Flowers are gladly accepted or memorial donations can be made to First Evangelical Church, Macon, Georgia. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
