John Michael "Mike" Bloodworth

John Michael "Mike" Bloodworth, 66, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, on Friday, October 14, 2016 with the Reverend Joe McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. Family will greet friends Thursday between 6:00-8:00PM at the Cupola. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Musella Baptist Church, 5430 US Highway 341 North, Musella, Georgia 31066, or the National Kidney Foundation, 270 Peachtree Street, Suite 1040, Atlanta, Georgia 30303. Mike was born in Macon, Georgia where he played football for the Willingham Rams and met his future bride in high school. He played football at Newberry College before transferring to The University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Mike's humor brightened the lives of those around him and his wisdom provided guidance to many people both personally and professionally. Mike's generous spirit touched many people who often didn't even know he was the one providing assistance. He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Bloodworth and step-father, Clarence Chitwood. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Ard Bloodworth; children, Ryan (Rose) Bloodworth, and Brandi (Matthew) Drake; grandchildren, Savannah and Michael Bloodworth; mother, Sarylan Chitwood; sister, Debbie (Bob) Bryan; mother-in-law, Jean Ard; brother-in-law, Sonny (Brenda) Ard; nieces, Leslie (Troy) Hogan and Jessica (Clay) Butler; and several aunts and cousins whom he loved dearly.
