John "Jd" Gordon

JD Gordon, 86, of Gray, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020.  A private family service will be Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Mundy and Dr. Donnie Melton officiating. Burial services will follow at the Gordon Family Cemetery off Highway 18 W., August 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM and is open to the public. The family will have a “walkthrough” visitation Thursday, August 13, 2020, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Hart’s Jones County Chapel. Masks are required at both the visitation and the burial.  There will be one way in and one way out of the facility.  We appreciate everyone’s cooperation.

Son of the late John Dawson Gordon Sr. and Clara Belle Pope Gordon, JD is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean Gordon; one son, Mark Gordon (Elaine), two daughters, Sheila Walker and Renee Morris (Jerry), all of Gray ; 21 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Tribble, and Sandra Rooks (Don), both of Gray. He was predeceased by his son, Ricky Gordon.

JD was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon since 1972. He was the owner of JD Gordon Logging, LLC.
