John Michael Fennell

Macon-John Michael Fennell, 59, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Hart's at the Cupola with Dr. Bob Setzer, Dr. Bill Hardee, Jane Hardee and Mitchell Fennell officiating. The burial services will be in Northview Cemetery in Dublin, GA. at 2:00PM. Visitation will be between 5:00-7:00PM on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Mr. Fennell obtained an Associates of Arts/Commercial Arts degree, an Associates of Science in Nursing degree, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Education degree. Among other occupations, Mr. Fennell was a former owner of a Violin Shop and continued to be a Broker of String Instruments (Violins, Violas, Basses, Guitars, and Banjos) until just before his death. His hobbies included being an artist, airplane pilot of single and multi-engine planes, collecting antiques, music, renovating 1870s Victorian homes for which he won a Historic Macon Restoration Award in 2004, motorcycles and traveling with his family. Mr. Fennell was predeceased by his parents, Lester Talmadge Fennell, Jr. and Doris Virginia Thigpen Fennell; and sister, Bonita Fennell.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Harrell Fennell; children, Michael Loran (Ivy Lynn) Fennell, John Matthew (Bebe Sanders) Fennell; his children's mother, Alice Fay Brown Fennell; brother, Mitchell Talmadge (Nena Hall) Fennell; his step mother, Shirin Fennell; and several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
