John Paul Collier of Bolingbroke passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Services will be held Monday, July 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, with the Rev. Jimmy Corbitt officiating. Family will greet friends an hour before the service. Mr. Collier was born December 13, 1924 in Allentown to John Grant and Mary Yancey Collier. He graduated from Danville High School in 1941 and promptly enlisted in the Navy where he served primarily in South America during World War II. After discharge, he was employed at Robins Air Force until his retirement. Mr. Collier was instrumental in the establishment of Bethany Baptist Church in Bolingbroke, where the Paul Collier Sunday School Class is named in his honor. Mr. Collier is survived by his sister, Gloria Collier Lacy of Fort Valley, his niece and her husband, Lisa and Mason White of Savannah, his devoted cousin, Mary Kelly of Macon, and good friends Patsy and Larry Davis and Dottie and Jim Henderson of Bolingbroke, and John Waddell of Macon. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 365 Pea Ridge Road, Juliette, Georgia 31046 or to Allentown United Methodist Church, Highway 112, Allentown, Georgia 31003.
