John Michael Burgess

Macon-John Michael Burgess, 48, died Sunday, June 13, 2010. Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00PM and funeral services at 6:00PM on Thursday, June 17, 2010 in the Chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Timothy D. Bearden officiating. Burial is private. Family may be contacted at the residence of Mark Burgess, 13 Maggie Lane, Macon, GA 31220. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McConnell Memorial Baptist Church, 84 Church Street, Hiawassee, GA 30546.

Mr. Burgess was a graduate of Metter High School and attended Brewton-Parker College. He worked twenty years for the Department of Corrections for the State of Georgia. He was predeceased by his father, Charles William Burgess.

Survivors include his mother, Dr. Patricia S. Burgess of Hiawassee, GA; brother, Mark Burgess (Jill) of Macon; sister, Charlaine Burgess (Adam Hester) of Austin, TX; and nephew, Jackson Burgess of Macon.
