John "Jack" Averett Robertson, Jr. went home to his Heavenly Father, February 19, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Hart's Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, with the Reverend Gary Thomas officiating. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park. Family will greet friends between 5:00-7:00PM on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Hart's Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elam Baptist Church, PO Box 816, Gray, Georgia 31032. Mr. Robertson was the son of the late John Robertson, Sr. and Margaret Robertson Hackbarth. He was a member and deacon of Elam Baptist Church. He retired from the Georgian Kaolin Company. A 1943 graduate of Lanier High School, Mr. Robertson was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Mercer University. He was an avid sports fan. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate during World War II. Mr. Robertson was predeceased by his mother, father, step-father, Ralph Hackbarth; and daughter, Carolyn Robertson Griffin. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Carolyn "Jean" Alexander Robertson of Gray; son, John "Rett" (Jill) Robertson of Savannah; daughter, Beverly (Frankie) Jackson of Gray; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and son-in-law, Sammy Griffin of Macon.
