John R. Andrews, M.D.

John Ronald Andrews, M.D.  (Ron), 84, died Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in Albany, Georgia. He was born to the late Lehman Bracken Andrews and the late Addie Ruth Morrison Andrews in Macon and grew up there attending St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Lanier High School. He then attended Mercer University and the Medical College of Georgia. After obtaining his degree of Doctor of Medicine, he had a private family practice in Warner Robins for several years.  He decided to return to MCG to study Diagnostic Radiology. After completion, he opened the Radiology department at the new Lanier Park Hospital in Gainesville, Georgia. Five years later, he moved his family to Albany and practiced with Radiology Associates of Albany another 20 years before retiring. He is survived by his wife, Annette Brown Andrews, his son, John Andrews, Jr. (Debbie) of Macon, his daughter, Amber Hall (Chris) of Albany, his grandchildren, John and Devin Andrews of Albany, his aunt, Frances Morrison Harvey of Macon, his niece Alana Brown Boehmer and two great nieces Meghan and Emily Boehmer, all of Jacksonville, and his beloved dogs Cody and Smoochie. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 11th at 1:00 at Riverside Cemetery in Macon. Visitation to be held at Harts Mortuary on Cherry St. at 11:00am, July 11th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or the Albany Humane Society. Hart’s Mortuary on Cherry Street in Macon has charge of arrangements.
