Joel C. West, Sr.

Joel C. West, Sr., 82, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Hart’s at the Cupola. The family will greet friends following the service.

Son of the late Joel Pearson West and Frances Spivey West, Joel was born in Dothan, Alabama on October 15, 1941. He was a respected senior fabrication technician at Brown and Williamson, dedicating many years of service before retiring. He was also an active and devoted member of Rock Springs Church, where he found community and fellowship.

Joel's passions reached beyond his professional and spiritual life. He enjoyed restoring old muscle cars, a hobby that brought him immense joy. However, his greatest joy was his family, whom he cherished above all else.

Joel will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Brenda Little West; children: Jill Traylor (Rodney) of Moultrie, Georgia, Holly Bagley (Mark) of Moultrie, Georgia, Joel West, Jr. (Monica) of Macon, Robbie O’Neal (Mandy) of Thomaston, Georgia, and Nikki Graham (Jeff) of Macon; grandchildren: Braden Traylor (Piper), Emilly Bartels (Wes), Meghan Traylor, Whittney Dell (Daniel), Zachary Gibbs (Brittany), Cade West, Connor West, Madison Williamson (Hunter), Morgan “Sugar Plum” O’Neal, Laranda Copeland (David), Austin Wainwright (Hannah), Bethany Boyt (Austin), Jacob Batchelor, Haley Batchelor, Hannah Batchelor, Holly Batchelor, Patrick Batchelor, Caleb Batchelor, Madison Batchelor, and Hannah “Sugar Pie” Bennett (Tyler); great grandchildren: Willis Cait Pilgrim, Camden Pilgrim, Carson Dell, Anne Collins Dell, Dylan Magnolia Cline, Sawyer Gibbs, Natalea Gibbs, Bankston Williamson, Isabella Williamson, Paisley Copeland, David “Bubba” Copeland, Saylor Boyt, Daren Wainwright, and Isaiah Wainwright; sister, Harriett W. Kirby of Tifton, Georgia; several nieces and nephews; bonus son, Chris Spivey; and his beloved pet, Izzy.

In addition to his parents, Joel was preceded in death by his brother, Dow S. Spivey.
