Joel Franklin Stuart

Joel Franklin Stuart, Sr. passed away on Thursday, May 30th 2013. Joel was born January 11, 1940, in Forsyth, Georgia, to the late Charlie C. Stuart and Lynn Batchelor Stuart. He graduated from Mary Persons High School in 1958, and joined the United States Marine Corp serving four years specializing in Aviation Electronics. After separating from the USMC he worked for Scientific Atlanta and then for various radiology companies installing X-ray equipment in hospitals. He dedicated many years to taking care of his elderly Mother and remained a true U.S. Marine all his life. Semper Fi He is survived by a son, Joel F. Stuart Jr. (Michele) of McDonough, daughter Jena S. Presley (Jerry) of Columbus, Ga., brother Ken Stuart (Jane) of Jonesboro, Ga, sisters Ann S. Roberson of Dunn, N.C. and Betty S. Ruffin (Jerry) of Wetumpka, Alabama., grandchildren: Nicole Stuart, John Stuart, Leigh Presley, Laine Presley, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who adored him. A true humanitarian, Joel requested his remains be donated for research. There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date.
