Joel Max Horne

Joel Max Horne, 78, of Macon, passed away April 2, 2018. Services will be held at 4:00PM, Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Rob Robinson will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 152 North Crest Boulevard, #C, Macon, GA 31210 or Covenant Academy, 4652 Ayers Road, Macon, GA 31210. Mr. Horne graduated from Lanier High School in 1959 and went on to Georgia Tech. He served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was owner of Max Horne Heating and Air and was a member of Macon Junior Chamber of Commerce, Elk's Club and was a lifelong member of the Macon Motor Boat Club. Max's greatest pleasures in life always involved time with his family and friends, especially at Lake Sinclair. He was loved by so many and was gifted at making everyone feel like a special friend. Mr. Horne was predeceased by his mother, Aleene Paulk Stone, father, Cortez Max Horne, brother, Homer Ed Horne and son, Joel Max Horne, Jr. Mr. Horne is survived by his wife, Barbara Jenkins Horne of Macon; daughter, Crystal Lynn Horne Reed of New Port Richey, Florida; step daughters, Camille White (Benjy) of Macon, Lisa McKee (Sean) of Macon, and Polly Passinault (Darrell) of Elko, Georgia; grandchildren, Parker, Ethan, Walker, Katherine, Sarah, Christopher, Patrick, Joshua; great grandchildren, Nathan, Christopher Jr., Patrick Jr., and Dianna; sister, Patricia Morgan (Barry) of Marshallville, Georgia; sister-in-law, Donna Horne of Dawson, Georgia; and many loving nieces and nephews.
