Joe E. Williams, Sr. died Sunday, February 5, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Parkway Assembly of God, with the Reverend John Dougherty and the Reverend Joe E. Williams, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Mr. Williams was president and secretary of Georgia High School Football Officials Association, and he coached at T.D. Tinsley Elementary School. A charter member of Parkway Assembly of God, he was a trustee for many years and taught the adult Sunday school class for 50 years. He was an Allstate general agent for 42 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Williams was a wonderful husband and loving father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Reppard Williams and Tina Mae Purcell Williams; a granddaughter, Austin Caroline Williams; and three brothers: William Parker Williams, Thomas Eugene Williams, and Samuel Lester Williams. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 67 years, Maydell Crawford Williams of Macon; daughter, Rachel W. Carroll (Mickey L.) of Macon; son, Joe E. Williams, Jr. (Rebecca M.) of Macon; son, Daniel E. Williams, Sr. (Ginger) of Macon; five grandchildren: Shelly C. Whitaker (Cody), Kathryn W. Hill (Dr. John Patrick). Joe E. Williams, III (Stacie), Daniel E. Williams, Jr., and Parker Brown Williams; seven great-grandchildren: Olivia Marie Brown, Clara Grace Christian; Hope Christian, Coraline Whitaker, Eden-Grae Williams, Ezekiel Hill, and Mary Austin Hill.
