Joe Dale Mullendore, Sr.

Joe Dale Mullendore, Sr., 86, of Macon passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, following a lengthy illness. A private memorial service will follow at a later date.

Joe was born January 12, 1940, in Tom Bean, Texas, to the late Aulton and Elizabeth Minchey Mullendore. He graduated, first, from Chatham Highschool and then chose to further his education at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. He honorably served his country, serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflicts. Joe built a respectable career as a licensed broker, realtor, and insurance agent in the Macon and Warner Robins region for more than four decades. He was affiliated with Fickling and Walker as a realty associate before beginning Mullendore Insurance Agency, which he continued to operate until his retirement.

In his spare time, Joe could usually be found outside, ordering a Wendy’s hamburger, or adding to his illustrious rooster collection. He was a member of both Elks Club and City club. As a young man, Joe played football and baseball and earned opportunities to try out for the Yankees, Cardinals, and Milwaukee Braves! He also enjoyed playing golf and had previously shot a hole in one. He was a longstanding member of Brickyard Golf Club, which was known as Riverside at Joe’s introduction. His unwavering support, love, and humor will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Mullendore; brother, Charles Mullendore of Mabou, Nova Scotia; and sister, Margie Odom of Colorado Springs. Joe is survived by his son, Joe Mullendore, Jr (Karen); grandson, Ashton Mullendore, all from Macon, Georgia; and sister, Martha Storey of Williamstown, Massachusetts.
