Joan W. Thomas died Saturday, May 21, 2016. Graveside services will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 3:00PM., with the Reverend Trey Jones officiating. The family will greet friends on Monday from 5 until 7 PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 4406, Macon, Georgia 31208. Mrs. Thomas was the wife of the late Joseph L. Thomas and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Whittington. She was also predeceased by her son, Joseph Chandler Thomas, and her sister, Thelma Webb. Mrs. Thomas was a dedicated wife and mother. She was a devoted Christian, who cared about and wanted to help all around her. She was retired from the work she loved as a director for Children's Friends. Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Lee (David Treadwell) of Macon; grandson, Joseph Jackson Lee of Macon; granddaughter, Jessica Lee Ogden (David) of Savannah; and nieces and nephews.
