Jessie Fischer Moinuddin

Jessie Fischer Moinuddin, Ph.D, Biochemist/Nutritionist/Poet/Memoirist, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025

Born March 28, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio. Educated in the public schools of Euclid, Ohio: graduated from Shore High School in 1943. Attended The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio: received the degrees of B.Sc. in Agriculture in 1947, M.Sc. 1948, Ph.D. and Agricultural Biochemistry (Specialty, Nutrition) 1951. She also received post-doctoral education at the Institute for Enzyme Research, University of Wisconsin, Madison Wisconsin 1951-1953.

She married October 9, 1956, in Karachi, Pakistan, to Mohammed Moinuddin. Widowed in 1985. She is survived by her son, Ahmed of Atlanta, and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grandnephews.

The family will greet friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Hart’s at the Cupola. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, 2000 Marietta Blvd NW Atlanta, GA 30318. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to High Street Unitarian Church, 1085 High St, Macon, GA 31201.
