Jessie Mae Jackson Cox, a 53 year resident of Warner Robins, GA, passed away on April 10, 2013 at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Cox was born in Cosby, SC on July 1, 1924, the daughter of the late Willie Bethea Jackson and the late Hester Adele Brown Jackson. Mrs. Cox was a graduate of Norman Jr. College and attended Georgia College working on her Master's in Education. After 25 years of teaching, she retired from Miller Elementary School and the Houston County Board of Education in 1986. Mrs. Cox was also a devoted supporter of her husband's work with the Rehoboth Baptist Association. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy N. Jackson Rainey, of Albany, GA; son, Jackson D. Cox of Milledgeville, GA; daughter, J. Pamela Cox Alexander; granddaughters, Amy M. Alexander Hammock (Benjamin) and Jenna C. Alexander of Warner Robins, GA. She was met in heaven by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Clarence P. Cox; daughter Judith E. Cox Casteen; brothers, Horace B. Jackson and Clarence B. Jackson. Mrs. Cox continued her love and respect for learning by donating her remains to the Mercer University School of Medicine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice. A Memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 1135 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins, GA on Thursday April 25, 2013 at 11 am. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the workers with Heart of GA Hospice and the loving caretakers that cared for Mrs. Cox through the last year.
