Jesse Lamar Fincher

Jesse Lamar Fincher passed away January 28, 2018. Funeral services will be Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00PM at Hart's Mortuary Chapel, 765 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia with Reverend Steve Johnson officiating. The burial will follow the service at Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Lamar, a lifelong resident of Macon, attended Lanier and graduated with the first graduating class of 1960 at Willingham High School. He owned and operated J&L Supermarket for 40 plus years. Lamar was an avid hunter that took him all over the United States, Canada and South America. Lamar achieved the "Grand Slam" of wild turkey hunting, which included four species of wild turkeys in the United States: Eastern Turkey, Osceola Turkey, Rio Grande Turkey, and the Merriam Turkey. He loved sharp, fast automobiles and he loved to travel, especially to Pigeon Forge. Lamar was a man of his word; if he told you something, you could take it to the bank. Lamar was predeceased by his son, Stacy Fincher; father, Jesse Lee Fincher; and mother, Mae Long Fincher. Lamar is survived by his wife, Linda Mimbs Fincher; son, Jesse Fincher; son, Todd Fincher; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; uncle, William Fincher; cousin, Sonny Fincher; cousin, Jerry Fincher; brother-in-law, Eddie Mimbs (Sandy); sister-in-law, Karen Martin; and brother-in-law, Michael Mimbs (Paula).
