Jerry D. Massey, Sr., known as PO-PO by high school friends and CHOMPIRAS by his Mexican friends, died Friday, November 20, 2009. Graveside services will be held at 3:00PM, Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Macon Memorial Park with the Reverend Steve Waldorf officiating. The family may be contacted at 2338 Old Holton Road. Massey, was Cherokee and Irish; and his mother, Jewel G. Massey, was Seminole. He was a member of The Woodruff Sunday School Class at Riverside United Methodist Church for 44 years. He was a contractor, built swimming pools and did landscape design for 45 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Faye Bankston Massey; children, Jerry "Duke" Massey, Jr. of St. Cloud, Florida, Jody Russell Massey of Atlanta, Georgia; Donna Jean Clark of Macon, Gary Alan Mims of Roberta, Georgia, and Bob Stewart Moorman II of Macon; grandchildren, Baron Avant Massey, Alyssa Mae Massey, and Eric Massey; sister, Merri Massey Scott of North Carolina and Ecuador; and many other beloved family members.
