Jerry A. Lumley

Jerry A. Lumley, 64, of Macon, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Ingleside Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Hudgins and the Reverend Joe McDaniel officiating.  The family will greet friends Wednesday, March 16, 2022, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hart’s at the Cupola. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mayo Clinic, 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905 or donor’s favorite charity.

Son of the late Jimmy Gillis and Clara B. Pittman Lumley, Jerry graduated from high school in 1975 and was recognized as the star student at Adrian High School and also of Emmanuel County.  He graduated in 1979 from the University of Georgia summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He then graduated in 1982 from the University of Georgia School of Law.  He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Jerry practiced law with Lumley and Harper.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Brenda Page Lumley of Macon; daughters, Dr. Lauren Hollman Fried (Joseph) and Caroline Lumley Jones (Richie), both of Macon; grandchildren, Edlin St. Vil, Davis Fried, Cooper Fried, and Aiden Jones; brothers, Jimmy Britt (Carol) of Greensboro, Georgia and Tommy Lumley of Wrightsville, Georgia; sisters, Joy Shepherd and Jan Lumley, both of Dublin, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Ryan Daniel (Becky), Jodie Shepherd, Angel Burnette (Mike) and Jimmy Britt, Jr.; and special friend, Julie Jones Glenn (Scott).
