Jerry William Joy

MACON, GA - Jerry Joy, 84, died August 17, 2022, in Macon, Georgia. Born on January 11, 1938, in Macwahoc, Maine, he was the son of Tyra and Carroll Joy. After serving in the US Navy he worked as a computer programmer and IT Manager in the banking industry, retiring from BB&T. He is survived by his better half, Jean Crumpton of Macon, GA; son, Jerry Joy of Winthrop; daughter, Jean Joy Carrier of Plymouth, MN; grandchildren, Ashley Joy DeWever of Richmond, Andrew Joy of Lebanon, David Carrier of Plymouth, MN, and Kathryn Joy of Lakeville, MN; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry Joy of Island Falls and David Joy of Fredericton, NB; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, John, James, Herbert, Frederick, and Frank Joy; and sisters, Edith Wilson, Doris Hunter, Elizabeth Worthington, Sally DeLaite, and Jillian Oliver. A service will be held in Maine in the spring.
